Knock Sensors

Pre-ignition can cause serious damage to an engine and is identified as a "knocking sound" when it occurs. The knock sensor picks up any pre-ignition knocking. The vehicles ECU can then make adjustments to ignition timing or turbo boost pressure in order to elimnate pre-ignition.
