ABS Sensors

Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) are fitted to most current production vehicles. These systems provide the vehicle manufacturers customers with improved safety and comfort.

An integral part of any ABS system are the speed sensors. These are located in each wheel hub and send the speed of rotation of each wheel to the ABS systems ECU. The ECU uses this information to modify any applied braking force to prevent lock up of each individual wheel and so prevent the vehicle from skidding.

The location of these ABS sensors exposes them to a high levels of dirt, heat and water that over time may lead to sensor failure.

The Autotec range of ABS sensors are manufactured to the highest standards and offer a cost effective alternative to a dealer sourced unit
